Christine Calandra studied with many watercolor masters while raising a family. She is a self-taught artist. Traveling has enhanced her vision as an artist, however, her love of New Jersey and the beauty that surrounds us has been reflected in many of her paintings. Christine has been teaching watercolor painting for over 35 years and started Local Color Watercolor Workshop in 1990. Through these workshops, she opened the door for many budding artists and led them on their own creative journey.

Christine Calandra
Christine Calandra studied with many watercolor masters while raising a family. She is a self-taught artist. Traveling has enhanced her vision as an artist, however, her love of New Jersey and the beauty that surrounds us has been reflected in many of her paintings. Christine has been teaching watercolor painting for over 35 years and started Local Color Watercolor Workshop in 1990. Through these workshops, she opened the door for many budding artists and led them on their own creative journey.
Ms. Calandra has been invited to demonstrate painting in watercolor to various art organizations, clubs and after school programs. Her work has been featured on the cover of various publications, including the cover of Long Beach Island’s Beachcomber newspaper and the Wayne Adult School brochure. Her work has been included in the Jersey Shore Holiday Magazine, the Jersey Shore Summer Vacation Guide and the Long Beach Island Vacation Guidebook 2007 to 2013. She was also featured on the cover of the Chilton Hospital Magazine 2015.
Her painting entitled “Midnight Walk” was selected to be included in the book “To The Shore Once More Vol. III”
in 2016. She was elected to be an exhibiting member of the New Jersey Watercolor Society in 2011.
