Macrame (Youths)

Join us for Macramé (Youths)! In this 8-week class, Cindy Boksy will teach students the basics of forming macrame knots to create larger crafts. The class will cover several different types of fibers and the qualities and characteristics of each. By the end of this session, students will be proficient in square knots, spiral knots, larkshead knots, hitch knots, and berry knots.
Starting with smaller projects like keychains and bookmarks at the beginning of the session, we will work our way up to more complex pieces like plant hangers and decorative wall hangings. By the end of the 8-week session, students will be able to apply their knot skills to larger projects they can work on independently.
Registration is for the entire session. Classes will be held on the following dates: May 1, 8, 15, 22, 29; June 5, 12, 26.

Woodcutting and Relief Printmaking

Please join us for Relief Printmaking class! Every Wednesday Evening, Tim Hedagorn will teach students the basics of Relief Printmaking.
Students will work on individual art pieces, learn the history of this craft, and complete the class having crafted 3 woodblock prints.

Ballroom Dance

Join us for Ballroom Dance Class. Professional dancer and expert, Michael will introduce students to the basics of dance.

Botanical Printing and Collage

Join us for a Botanical Imprinting and Collage Workshop. Jimena Vega will instruct students on the various techniques that are involved when creating eco-friendly art.

Bomba Level 1

Intro to Bomba Drumming is a class that integrates Caribbean percussion, history, mental health, and social connection. Instructor Chris Rodriguez will teach about the essential instruments and rhythms of AfroPuerto Rican bomba, as well as mental and social well-being.
Students will not just learn how to drum and dance; they will also learn about batey, a Puerto Rican word that refers to both a drumming circle and its social space. Through group drumming, students will learn what it means to connect to oneself and to create and sustain a supportive, harmonious community.

Bomba Level 2

Bomba Level 2 is designed for students who have already taken Bomba lessons before, with Chris Rodriguez or another instructor. Every Wednesday night in our Bomba Level 2 class. Instructor, Chris Rodriguez will teach students more advanced rhythms and techniques to continue to build their skills as drummers.
If you are looking for a new approach towards improving your overall health, then this may be the class for you.

Oil Painting

Join us for our Oil Painting led by the professional artist and instructor, Kyeong Kun No. Every Friday, Kyeong will teach students the key elements of painting with oils and attain an in-depth understanding of how to capture the essence of self-portrait.
From color theory to lighting to underpainting, this class mimics how the Old Masters taught their apprentices as well as the many existing ateliers that teach traditional oil painting. If you have always wanted to learn oil painting, in particular, portraiture, you won’t want to miss this class.
