Artist Statement

As a photographer I see the world around me as photo opportunities. Subject matter, light, color, and composition are constantly being played out in my mind.

My Moon Flower series was created from a collection of images photographed at the New York and New Jersey Botanical Gardens and the thermal pools of Yellowstone National Park.

As an artist I aim to create new visions of what is possible by merging images of flowers and thermal pools I attempt to tell a story greater than the sum of its parts. Each work is intended to engage the viewer in a setting consisting of information at once familiar and out of context in the world from which it was drawn thus giving it a surrealistic accent.
