The objective of an internship with the Dey Mansion is to provide the student with experience in the field of history, interpretation, and the various tasks associated with museum work.

A successful internship will not only provide the student with an opportunity to gain experience, develop skills, and strengthen a resume but will also help to assess their own interests and abilities.

While we will tailor an internship to accommodate the specific interests of the student for the purpose of a class project or assignment, we do require that all of our interns assist staff in the daily needs of the organization. This may include answering phones, leading public tours, and assisting with public programs.

Candidates for internships should be reliable, organized, and comfortable interacting with the public, including both children and adults.

All candidates are interviewed prior to being accepted into an internship position. Please come prepared to discuss why you would like an internship at the Dey Mansion and what your goals are for the purpose of this position.

New Jersey residency is required for all candidates.

Internship applications are now being accepted. Please email Jessica Bush at jessicab@passaiccountynj.org for more information.

Internships are open to students entering 11th grade – postgraduate.
