Lecture Series: In a House of Great Hospitality: Alexander Hamilton at the Dey Mansion

With public interest growing in Alexander Hamilton, more people than ever are flocking to historic sites that Hamilton visited. The Dey Mansion is an official AHA Society-designated All Places Hamilton location; Alexander Hamilton stayed in the house for several months in 1780 in his capacity as an aide-de-camp to George Washington. While Hamilton was living at the Dey Mansion, he wrote to his fiancée Eliza Schuyler that he was stationed "in a house of great hospitality." On Saturday, July 2nd, in a similarly titled talk, Nicole Scholet de Villavicencio will be speaking at the Dey Mansion on Alexander Hamilton's time in the house. Come hear about the many important events that were happening at that time in both Hamilton's life and in the Revolutionary War. This talk is part of the annual CelebrateHAMILTON program (#CelebHAM) hosted by the Alexander Hamilton Awareness Society every July.

About the Speaker

Nicole Scholet de Villavicencio is the Vice-President and co-founder of the Alexander Hamilton Awareness Society (the AHA Society), a national 501c3 nonprofit educational organization dedicated to the life and legacy of Alexander Hamilton. Ms. Scholet de Villavicencio leads the AHA Society's All Places Hamilton initiative and specializes in research on Alexander Hamilton's ties to various historic sites. She also curates the AHA Society's online content, which can be found at theAHAsociety.org and AllThingsHamilton.com.
