a wish that bloomed in fall is a heartwarming slice-of-life story about Emma, a college girl who graduated during the height of the 2020 pandemic. Despite uncertainty, she was inspired and determined to pursue her dream of becoming a comic artist after meeting a squirrel, whom she named Cinnamon. It’s loosely based on a true story. (Sat)

Barbara Worton is an author, poet, playwright, blogger, and songwriter. Her books include Chatterbox: Stories from a Noisy Life, Bedtime Stories: The Short, Long and Tall Tales of a Sleepwriter and the award-winning children’s book Too Tall Alice. She coauthored If I’m Talking, Why Aren’t You Listening? with Linda Dini Jenkins and The Adventures of The Baker’s Daughter with Rochelle Udell. Her story “London Calling” appears in Memories of John Lennon, edited by Yoko Ono. I’m Karol Rubio, the creator and hands behind Karitocrochets. I’ve been crocheting for over 18 years, and what began as a relaxing hobby has now grown into a full-time creative passion. With the encouragement of family and my wonderfully artistic friends, I took the leap and started selling my plushies at local vendor markets in late 2023. Crocheting is truly my happy place/ it’s both meditative and magical to watch each creation come to life, stitch by stitch. Some of my favorite makes are chickens in an egg, which makes it an interactive toy for little hands.
