The Garden State Model Railway Club train show features two large layouts with train operations representing all eras, including specialty trains. Come see some of the famous trains of the past and present, including regular appearances by Thomas the Tank Engine and his Friends. Parents and kids can get an up and close view and tour of our layouts, including the planning and construction of our second display in progress. In addition to our HO-scale trains featured, we offer a play area for children to play with and even run trains while mom and dad can relax, and are offering items for sale in case you wish to expand your train collection for home!

Fun Run – 5k/1 mile Run/Cycle/Walk FUNdraiser

On Saturday May 6, 2023, the Jersey Cares Fun Run will host runners, walkers, bikers, and the greater community for a family friendly race and finish line community celebration. As a leader in volunteerism in New Jersey, Jersey Cares increases the level of meaningful volunteer engagement by creating and managing efficient, impactful projects that address critical community-identified needs. Pets are welcomed.

The day will begin with a 5k/1 mile walk through Garret Mountain Reservation Park. Afterwards, participants can enjoy refreshments, awards, entertainment, meet fellow Jersey Cares supporters, and visit sponsor tables. The event will conclude with closing remarks from Jersey Cares leaders, where attendees can learn more about the work and mission of the organization.

This is a concert for young people and families.  Listen to demonstrations of the brass families the trumpet, French horn, Trombone, euphonium and tuba.  Then we will play music that will showcase these instruments.  Meet the instruments and enjoy pizza after the show.

Passaic County Book Festival 2023

The County of Passaic, in conjunction with the PALS Plus Library Consortium, presents the second annual Passaic County Book Festival at Weasel Brook Park on Saturday, June 10th from 11:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m.

The book festival is a full-day event that aims to bring awareness to literary arts through exchanging ideas, encouragement of continued research, creative expression, and the promotion of local libraries. This event will feature over fifty (50) local authors, scholars, and poets across every genre. This event will include author meet and greets, moderated author panels, arts and crafts, food and refreshments, poetry sessions, story time for children, reading to dogs, and live acoustic music.

PALS Plus is a consortium of 30 public, and academic libraries located in New Jersey’s Passaic, Essex, and Hudson counties. Their libraries share resources to better serve the needs of their diverse communities.
