Book Talk: Hanging by a Thread: A Novel
July 12 @ 1:00 pm - 2:00 pm

Step into 19th-century Paterson as author James Coyle presents Hanging by a Thread: The Story Behind the Story.
Inspired by the real life of Loretta Tyrrell and set in the shadow of the Dexter Lambert Silk Mill, Coyle reveals the true events, hidden histories, and local voices that shaped his debut novel. Through meticulous research and family stories, he vividly brings the Silk City’s turbulent past to life — a world of mill workers, immigrant families, child laborers, and the fierce resilience required to survive poverty, scandal, and the unforgiving realities of the era.
The program will conclude with a book signing and is free to the public.
