Art Class for Kids: Pisanki Polish Paper Cut Art

Paper-cut Łowicz pisanki are vibrant, traditional Polish Easter eggs decorated with colorful, layered paper cutouts (wycinanki) featuring iconic floral and rooster motifs. This distinct style differs from the single-color Kurpie tradition and represents a unique blend of folk art applied to hollowed eggshells designed for hanging. These handmade creations from central Poland often incorporate scenes from folk life, using brightly colored paper layered and glued onto dyed eggs to achieve rich, detailed designs. We are going to create a paper-cut Łowicz-style pisanka as a spring/Easter decoration and a mini collage on a canvas panel inspired by Aneta’s photographs of her traditional (beeswax) pisanki. All supplies are included. This workshop is for ages 9-15 years old.
