The Clifton Museum is a historic house museum.
Listed on the State and National Register of Historic Places, the Clifton Museum is curated to provide the visitor with an experience of stepping back in time.
As you walk through the front door you are transported back to the Colonial Era and the home of the Hamilton-Van Wagoner Family.
The museum is operated and maintained by the County of Passaic and the City of Clifton. Visitors to the Clifton Museum can tour the historic house, view different exhibitions of the collections, and take part in a range of educational and public programming.

Hours of Operation
Saturday and Sunday: 9:00 am–5:00 pm
Tours on the hour beginning at 10:00 am
No tours between 12:00pm -1:00pm
Closed Thanksgiving Day, Easter, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, and January 1
All visitors should call in advance for the daily tour schedule as it is subject to change.

Guided Museum Tours
Tours of the Museum are about an hour in duration and leave on the hour beginning at 10:00 am (no tours between 12:00 pm – 1:00 pm).

Group Visits & Tours
Advance reservations are required for all adult and student groups of 10 or more, and for any third-party guided tours, regardless of size. For more information or to make a reservation, please call our offices.

School Group Programs
School programs are offered Wednesday thru Friday (except holidays) between the hours of 9:00 am – 2:30 pm. Programs generally run for ninety (90) minutes. For more information or to make a reservation, please review our Education Program Information or call us.
