Virtual Artist Talk: Zehra Dogan
Monday, October 19, 2020
Kurdish artist and journalist Zehra Dogan will discuss her politically driven artistic practice. Dogan was imprisoned in Turkey for nearly 3 years due to painting the destruction of Kurdish towns. While incarcerated, she sewed and inscribed clothing with the ordeals of her fellow inmates. Her lecture will be followed by a question and answer session. This event is organized in conjunction with the forthcoming exhibition, Fashion Is a Verb: Art, Performance, and Identity, which will be on view in Spring 2021. The event link will be posted here: https://bit.ly/FashionIsaVerb or please contact Gallery Manager Emily Johnsen at (973) 720-2654 or firstname.lastname@example.org.
